HP Notebooks with 32 Hours Battery Life

People, animals, sensations. In this case it is notebooks with 32 hours HP and the circus-like announcement soon to sell battery life. The HP EliteBook 8460p in serious aluminium magnesium case should be soon (15.3.) from 999 USD. Disadvantage: A weight of up to 2 kg, but somewhere the batteries need to Yes. We want to still wait as the marathon skills in practice prove, but “only” 24 hours without outlet would be a giant step forward.

Disposable USB Memory Fleshkus Is From Cardboard and Far-fetched, But Creepy

From the design workshop by Art Lebedev is a concept called Fleshkus that brings the USB Seicher on a level with the Notepad: 8 or 16 GB are integrated into cardboard strips separated using perforated Fleshkus cardboard. The concept seems somehow almost already absolutely logical if you consistently update the falling price of the space, [...]

AMD Killing Off the Athlon, Sempron and Phenom

AMD has been rebranding itself left and right over the past couple of years, and even its microprocessor lineup isn't safe from the marketing department's red pen. It's recently come to light that AMD is considering removing the Athlon, Sempron and Phenom brand names from its chips, focusing instead upon its successful Vision strategy.

Lenovo ThinkPad X120e

The good: AMD E-350 CPU offers long battery life; solid graphics; excellent keyboard; compact, professional ThinkPad design.
The bad: Throwback rubberized trackpoint eats up valuable space; battery bulge; heavy chassis; more expensive than some other AMD Fusion systems.
The bottom line: The AMD Fusion-powered ThinkPad X120e is an 11-inch ultraportable that's better and more affordable than last year's model, making it an even better choice for small-business buyers.
Editors' note: Originally scheduled for mid-February availability, the launch of this product has been delayed until March 8, 2011.
A new wave of AMD Fusion processors aimed at 11.6-inch ultraportables is making its way into Netbook-size laptops, promising a new generation of tiny, well-powered budget super-Netbooks. Stick one into a ThinkPad design, and you have the ThinkPad X120e, an update to last year's ThinkPad X100e (which had AMD's Neo processor). We liked the compact feel and excellent keyboard, but the battery life back then was too short for everyday use.
The new ThinkPad X120e ranges in price from $399 to nearly $1,000; our version costs $579 and has a 1.6GHz AMD Fusion E-350 dual-core processor--the same one as in the HP Pavilion dm1, the first laptop we reviewed with an AMD Fusion processor.
The AMD Fusion upgrade amounts to a win for this ThinkPad. The X120e offers improved graphics and a markedly better battery life at a lower price than its predecessor, the X100e. Still, that price is significantly higher than a Netbook--or, for that matter, the HP Pavilion dm1, an 11.6-incher with the same AMD e-350 processor, which starts at $450 for a comparable build. A lot of 11.6-inchers will feature this new AMD Fusion platform, which means there will be a lot of choices for interested shoppers. Consider the ThinkPad X120e a pricier, but slightly more professional, spin on the competition. It's also the best ThinkPad budget ultraportable we've seen.

HP Pavilion Slimline s5660f

The good: All of the features we'd want in a living-room-friendly slim tower; fast computing performance; budget video card will play HD video and most 3D games.
The bad: No FireWire or eSATA ports; power hog.
The bottom line: From fast performance, to a Blu-ray drive, to plentiful other features, HP's Pavilion Slimline includes almost everything we'd ask for in our ideal living-room slim tower PC. It will seem expensive if you're more inclined to get a Nettop or a set-top box, but for committed PC media enthusiasts, this HP offers the complete package.
We've been fans of Gateway's $500 to $600 SX line of slim tower PCs, but HP's fixed-configuration, $750 Pavilion Slimline s5660f makes a strong showing as a higher-end living-room-friendly desktop. Bulging with digital media features, the Slimline s5660f was clearly conceived with home entertainment in mind. It's also no performance slouch, thanks to its fast quad-core AMD CPU. At $750, this system costs more than dedicated media boxes, or even Nettops that can provide similar Web video-streaming capabilities. But with a Blu-ray drive, a TV tuner, a dedicated budget 3D card, and fast performance, the Slimline s5660f is impressively well-rounded, and easy to recommend to those trying to inject the freedom and breadth of PC-based media into their home entertainment setup.
HP's Slimline chassis has been around for a few years, but this is the first model we've seen in a while that fully makes use of the chassis' size advantages by including an HDMI port. Though it is certainly larger than either Apple's Mac Mini or Dell's Inspiron Zino HD, two competing systems, the 12-inch high, 4.75-inch wide, 16-inch deep Slimline isn't that much larger than the original editions of the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360. It's also just an inch taller than the Gateway SX2850-33
